The UN System in Bolivia, including the UN Information Centre (UNIC) La Paz organized four joint programmes, called "Four Windows".

One of the joint programmes is called the "Window of Peace". The key component of this window is the campaign designed by UNIC, called "Living Together, Sowing Peace", that Centre led and coordinated since October 2008.

In the framework of "Living Together…" and with funds from the "Window of Peace", UNIC La Paz, together with the inter-agency Office for the Achievement of the MDGs, the UNDP National Human Development Report, the La Paz daily "Página Siete" and "Icónca" Photo Services, designed the initiative called "Viaje al Corazón de Bolivia" ("Into the Heart of Bolivia").

The initial idea developed into sending three successive teams in three routes, covering most of Bolivia's territory and peoples. Each team is conformed by one writer; a young photographer, and a social researcher. Each team will be in the field for approximately seven weeks, sending their articles and photographs from approximately seven locations. Than, those articles will be published (starting 3 July) in a special section 8-pages spread in Página Siete's Sunday magazine called "Miradas". This enterprise will last 25 weeks.

The purpose of the programmes is to put a human face to the figures of the MDGs in the most distant and remote places, and showing how the ethnic diversity of Bolivians coexist and thrive in peace.
